We would like to invite you to enjoy Urretxiki: A place surrounded by nature, where it is possible to stop time to enjoy the calm and tranquility, listen to the rhythm of a birdsong and savor the colorful seasons of the vegetation that surrounds us.
The magic of Urretxiki makes it possible to enjoy a quiet walk through the private oak grove that surrounds the house; observe the pasture of the sheep and even caress the silence of the area, away from the beeps and bustle of the cities.Come, relax and enjoy the calm, along with the rhythm of nature.
The surroundings
Located in the town of Maruri-Jatabe, in the epicenter of the coast towns of Uribe Kosta and only 13 minutes away from the center of Bilbao, Urretxiki, is a quiet place surrounded by nature.
In the middle of nature, at the foot of Mount Jata, where the calm can be breathed and it is likely to connect with the environment, it makes it possible to escape from the speed of the routine that haunts us.
The magnetism of this relaxing setting is given by the different spots that harmonize the more than 11,000 m2 of private plot, where you can enjoy the sounds of nature as you immerse yourself in a lush oak forest that ends on the banks of the Askabitxu River.
A 5-minute walk away of this this natural environment, you will be able to find the urban center of Maruri-Jatabe, accounting with a wide range of sports facilities and local shops, as well as restaurants that will allow you to try local products and delve into the well-known Basque cuisine.
The house is located only 10 minutes away from Bilbao’s airport, 15 minutes away from the center of Bilbao and at a 7-minute ride from the nearest beach.

At its entrance, URRETXIKI has an ample space for parking vehicles. This area is an exclusive access space for guests.
THE HOUSE, located in the center of the property and behind the parking area, fosters tranquility and privacy.
With the aim of enhancing the enjoyment of Urretxiki among guests, the house is divided in two clear spaces: A ground floor with a kitchen-dining room, three living rooms and a full toilet, which connects through large openings to the porch and outdoor space, and an upper floor, with two full toilets and bedrooms, with capacity for 16 guests (There is the option of increasing the number of guests, by express consultation).
THE ROOMS are all located on the first floor. From them, the nature that surrounds the house can be enjoyed. There is a total of 5 bedrooms, 4 are double dorms (two with double beds and two equipped with two single beds) and a fifth room, with four bunk beds for up to 8 guests.
The full BATHROOMS, both the one on the ground floor and the two on the first floor, are for shared use. Out of the three, two have a shower and the third, is equipped with a bathtub.
Urretxiki, has a complete, industrial-type KITCHEN, with a traditional basque txoko style, for cooking lovers. The kitchen is gas-butane; it has an industrial oven and is equipped with all the necessary appliances, as well as utensils to prepare meals for large groups.
Attached to this space is the DINING AREA, with two large wooden tables, and a large number of chairs.
The LIVING AREA is composed of three different areas: an area with sofas where the TV is located; a central area, which allows connection to the dining area, also composed of sofas and a secluded space around a wood fireplace, to enjoy a cozy atmosphere at the foot of a warm fire.
Outdoor space
Urretxiki has a large OUTDOOR SPACE composed of different areas, where it is possible to enjoy multiple activities:
It has large green spaces, for enjoying, among others, sports activities, as well as a lush oak forest with direct access to the Askabitxu River, a stream of the Butrón River.
There is a barbecue next to a porch that is extended under a vine of Pinot-Noir grapes, which favors lunches, dinners and even talks, under the warm shade generated by the leafy leaves in summer, and under the sun that enters through the deciduous branches, in winter.
From this space, you will be able to enjoy the views of our wonderful gardens and woods.
In addition, in order to complete the experience, we have a natural pool based on plant filtration, with a 4 x 10m vessel, to maintain the essence of the rural environment and a solarium with sun loungers on a warm floor area.

Activities
We invite you to complete the experience, with activities that allow you to enjoy and get to know the rural environment and the coast of Bizkaia, in a closer and more lively way.
TREKKING & HIKING
Immersing yourself in the natural environment is possible, through hiking trails from the house itself: Get to know the flora and fauna of the municipality, with a climb to Mount Jata, from where you can observe and enjoy spectacular views of the Cantabrian Sea and the cliffs of Bizkaia’s coast.
BIKE ROUTES
We invite you to get to know the surrounding villages of Maruri-Jatabe, through cycle-tourism routes or mountain biking, along the dreamed routes that make up Bizkaia a cycling paradise. You can enjoy both, the coast of Bizakaia and the interior as well as the architecture and landscape of the region.
TXAKOLI
Get to know and introduce yourself in the world of Txakoli, a 5-minute drive away from Urretxiki.
Enjoy a tasting of traditional wine from the Basque Country, made with local grapes, with the designation of origin of “Bizkaiako Txakolina”.
SURF
Glide along the waves of the coast of Bizkaia and enjoy from the sea that surrounds us, the historic cliffs, the sandy areas and villages, in a different and refreshing way.
GASTRONOMIC TOURISM
The experience doesn’t end until you enjoy the typical dishes of the inner region of Bizkaia.
